Hello and Welcome to My Stylistic Journey!
I'm Lakshita Ganesh Kumar, and I’m thrilled to take you along on this exciting adventure as I build my brand, develop an innovative app, and launch my company, Stylistic.
Who Am I?
I'm Lakshita, an Honors Student at the University of Connecticut, where I’m pursuing a Dual Degree in Statistics and Computer Science and Engineering. My education has equipped me with a wealth of technical skills in software development, but there's more to my story.
I have a deep passion for empowering others to embrace their style and be unapologetically themselves. Over the past few years, I’ve faced my own struggles with personal style and self-confidence, overcoming many challenges along the way. Now, I’m on a mission to help you overcome yours.
The Vision
My vision is to create a brand and app that empowers YOU to own your style and regain your confidence. Through my work on my website, blog, Instagram, TikTok, and my upcoming app, I am committed to making a difference in the realm of authentic fashion inspiration and self-love.
What Inspired Me?
It all started with self-confidence.
I wasn't confident in my style or the way I presented myself, so I decided to make a change. I scoured the internet for inspiration but couldn't find a platform that offered authentic inspiration. Most platforms were dominated by influencers and celebrities with highly posed presentations. I wanted something more real but couldn't find it.
That's why I decided to create what I was looking for: a social media app and online community dedicated entirely to authentic fashion inspiration and empowerment. Stylistic not only allows me to find real inspiration from real people but also helps me build self-confidence.
Where I Am Now
Currently, I’m in the process of validating my idea and building it from the ground up. My plan has three main components: my social media presence, my website, and my app.
I’ve already gained a following on Instagram, where I post daily content on various topics, including fashion history, OOTDs (outfits of the day), styling tips, and more. My goal is to maintain consistency, grow my follower base, and boost engagement.
As for my website, today marks the first day of truly building it. I posted a blog article on how to style an outfit flat-lay and started this exclusive page to record my progress. Moving forward, I plan to post daily articles and promote the app’s launch, inviting engaged readers like you to join the Stylistic community!
The final component is my app! I spent the past month completing an iOS development course where I learned a lot about developing mobile apps on Xcode. From design to prototyping to launch, I gained a lot of insight and knowledge on what to expect throughout this process. My plan now is to start wireframing my app, gaining feedback from potential users, and iterating along the way.
